Whenever you have children around the house and you allow them to use the computer and browse the Internet, it's very important to monitor their activity and to restrict certain websites from being accessed. You also need to block certain keywords from being used on Google or other similar search engines. For this, you can use Qustodio, a specialized application which automatically blocks malicious and pornographic websites and also forbids certain keywords from being used inside search engines.

After installing the program, the user will be guided through a step by step configuration wizard. First of all, he will need to create a new account on the program's website, by entering his name, email address and a password. Next, one should define the number of children which should have their Internet activity restricted. For each child, the user should link a Windows account. In case there are no accounts created in Windows, one can automatically create them directly from the program's interface.

After configuring all these steps, Qustodio will start monitoring websites and typed keywords in the background. When the child logs in to the computer and tries to access a malicious website, a message will be displayed, informing the child that the website is restricted. The same goes when entering certain malicious keywords in the Google search bar, as these words will be automatically eliminated from the search. By accessing the program's website and entering the email address and password, the parent is able to view the list of websites accessed by children and also the name of the computer on which these websites were accessed. With a single click, one can allow certain sites to be accessed or he can choose to be notified when certain websites are being accessed.

Another useful feature is the advanced Facebook activity monitoring option, which can automatically monitor Facebook conversations, friends requires and other similar activities, for ensuring that children don't communicate with dangerous people.

Pros

It can be easily configured, just by following a step by step wizard. Besides that, the program can be administered from a website. Furthermore, it can automatically block malicious websites and keywords. Moreover, it can monitor Facebook activity.

Cons

The trial version can only work for 3 days. Qustodio allows you to protect your children, by preventing them from accessing certain malicious websites.
